Feodora was the eldest daughter of Prince Heinrich XXVII. (Reuss younger line) and his wife Elise, geb. Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Heinrich XLV. (Reuss younger line) was her youngest brother.

On April 24, 1917, she married Duke Adolf Friedrich zu Mecklenburg in Gera . Their wedding was the last princely wedding at Osterstein Castle . She died on December 18, 1918, one day after the birth of her daughter Woizlawa-Feodora, and was buried in the Pribislaw Chapel in the Doberan Minster . It was the last burial in the cathedral.

The listed Villa Feodora on Stülower Weg in Bad Doberan , which Adolf Friedrich bought in 1924 and where he and his family lived until 1945, is named after her .
