Baron Ferdinand August von Langermann and Erlencamp (born February 25, 1814 in Brodelwitz ( Steinau district ), † June 26, 1879 in Dresden ) was a royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 6th Uhlan regiment .

origin

His parents were the master of Brodelwitz Christoph von Langermann and Erlencamp (* June 16, 1784; † June 28, 1844) and his wife the Freiin Wilhelmine Friederike Christiane Henriette von Zedlitz (* April 25, 1786; † July 12, 1856).

Life

He attended high school in Glogau. After graduating, he went to the 6th Infantry Regiment as a musketeer on January 28, 1831 . He was appointed Portepeefähnrich on April 30, 1831 and transferred to the 7th Infantry Regiment on December 13, 1832. There he was appointed second lieutenant on March 12, 1834. On June 26, 1846, he was aggregated into the 6th Cuirassier Regiment at his own request and assigned there on April 2, 1846 with a patent on March 12, 1834. There he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant on May 9, 1848. From October 21, 1849 to November 12, 1850 and from March 30, 1851 to September 30, 1851, he was assigned to the military riding school. Promoted to Rittmeister on June 22, 1852, he joined the 2nd Squadron of the 6th Heavy Landwehr Rider Regiment on December 11, 1852. On August 4, 1853, he returned to the 6th Cuirassier Regiment as head of Eskaron. He was promoted to major on June 14, 1859 and at the same time transferred to the 1st Cuirassier Regiment as a regular staff officer; on July 25, 1859, he was aggregated into the regiment.

On May 12, 1860 he became a regular staff officer in the 10th Uhlan Regiment. On January 9, 1864, he was entrusted with the command of the 6th Uhlan Regiment and was placed à la suite of the regiment; on June 25, 1864, he was confirmed as commander. On September 23, 1865 he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class .

In the German War of 1866 he fought near Liebenau , Münchengrätz , Preßburg and Königgrätz . On September 20, 1866 he was promoted to colonel and awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd class with swords .

On June 9, 1870 he was given the character of major general and was put up for disposal with a pension . He died in Dresden on June 26, 1879.

Langermann married on September 28, 1842 in Penzlin Gebhardine Amalie Henriette Karoline Ernestine Sophie von Malzahn (* May 25, 1817, † July 10, 1880), a daughter of Hereditary Land Marshal Georg Ferdinand Friedrich von Maltzahn .
