Ferdinand Buomberger

Ferdinand Buomberger (born on December 12, 1874 in Bütschwil ; died on August 3, 1946 in Weggis ) was a Swiss journalist , Catholic writer , statistician and script psychologist.

Life

Ferdinand Buomberger studied at the University of Freiburg , where he also received his doctorate in 1900 with a statistical and historical thesis. From 1897 to 1904 he was director of the statistical office of the canton of Friborg , professor at the commercial school and private lecturer at the University of Friborg.

He then worked as a journalist, was an editor for Eastern Switzerland , from 1907 to 1913 for the Schaffhauser Zeitung , then until 1919 for the Winterthurer Volkszeitung and since 1920 der Morgen in Weggis. From 1916 he worked full-time as a font expert and graphologist . In addition, he was secretary of the Christian Social Workers' Association from 1905 to 1915 , and from 1913 to 1918 he was a member of the city ​​council in Zurich .

In addition to his journalistic work, he published numerous writings on both statistical-political topics and religious writings, the latter mainly under the pseudonyms Johannes Laikos and Brother Augustine . In 1915 he published the volume of poetry Am Loom . He also wrote the song of the Munot bell in 1911 .
