Ferdinand Franz Adolf Freiherr von Landsberg zu Erwitte (born January 13, 1643 in Erwitte ; † August 29, 1682 in Hildesheim ) was canon in Münster, Hildesheim and Osnabrück.

Life

Origin and family

Ferdinand Franz Adolf von Landsberg zu Erwitte was the son of Daniel Dietrich von Landsberg zu Erwitte (1615-183, officer and Landdrost) and his wife Anna Margarethe Reichsfreiin Raitz von Frentz zu Frentz and Kendenich († 1643) and came from the noble family von Landsberg . His mother died in childbed after he was born. His father's second marriage to Anna Katharina von Plettenberg was short-lived, as Anna died a month after the wedding. From the third marriage with Jutta Antonette von und zu Leyen and Bongard (1633–1704) came the sons Franz Anton (1656–1727, Erbdroste), Franz Dietrich (1659–1727, Canon and politician), Franz Johann (1660–1726, Canon) and Franz Ludolf (1668–1732, Canon).

Act

After attending the Jesuit grammar school in Münster, he studied law at the Pont-à-Mousson University in Lorraine in 1659 . In July of that year he was prepared with papal approval in Münster . He also received a prebend in Hildesheim . On April 9, 1682 he renounced this benefice in favor of his brother Franz Johann. From 1659 to 1661 Ferdinand Franz studied in Ingolstadt , where he obtained an academic degree. He studied in Orléans from 1664 to 1666. The Osnabrück bishop awarded him a prebend in Osnabrück on September 9, 1666. Landsberg was buried in Hildesheim Cathedral.

In 1681 the Landsberg family set up a Fideikommiß , which Ferdinand Franz excluded from the property because the relatives considered it wasteful.
