Ferdinand Heger

Ferdinand Heger (born December 30, 1920 in Mistelbach an der Zaya ; † July 25, 1976 in Jesolo ) was an entrepreneur, president of the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association , regional fire brigade commander of Lower Austria and vice president of the International Fire Brigade Association .

Career

Ferdinand Heger served as an intelligence officer in the Wehrmacht during the Second World War and attended the Technical University of Vienna after the war . 1951 spondierte he engineer diploma for. Professionally, he managed his grandfather's agricultural machinery factory in Mistelbach, which was founded in 1895. In the same year he joined the volunteer fire department .

In 1952, Heger was elected commander of the Mistelbach volunteer fire brigade, and a year later he was elected district fire brigade commander of Mistelbach. In 1956 he became a regional fire brigade council and in 1959 he was elected regional fire brigade commander of Lower Austria. From 1972, State Fire Director Heger succeeded Josef Holaubek as President of the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association , in 1974 he was also appointed Vice President of the International Fire Brigade Association CTIF . Heger held all these fire service functions until his death on July 25, 1976 during a convalescence leave due to a serious illness in Jesolo .

Act

The high point of his work as state fire brigade commander of Lower Austria was the conversion of the volunteer fire brigades of his state from an association into a corporation under public law . With the Lower Austrian Fire Police and Fire Brigade Act of July 19, 1969, the conversion was decided on January 1, 1970.

The dissolution of the fire brigade associations also had considerable organizational consequences in the Lower Austrian fire service. 1971 was the first unified election year in Lower Austria. Companies

His company, the agricultural machinery factory Ferdinand Heger Landmaschinenfabrik , was taken over in 1987 by the Gasselich company, which relocated the company to Slovakia. The Mistelbach Museum Center was built on the site of the factory at that time .
