Ferdinand Krenzer

Ferdinand Krenzer (born May 22, 1921 in Dillenburg ; † May 8, 2012 in Hofheim am Taunus ) was a German Catholic theologian , pastor and writer .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1939, Krenzer began studying philosophy at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt am Main, which was founded by the Jesuits and is still run today. After four years of military service and imprisonment, he began studying theology in 1945 and was ordained a priest in 1949 .

Krenzer had been a member of the Frankfurt Oratorio since 1956 and gained international fame through the Catholic Faith Information (abbr. KGI ) founded by him in 1960 , of which he was director until 1992. Following his example in Frankfurt, more faith information offices were installed in Germany and later internationally, which are dedicated to intensely doubting, apostate and converting people with faith talks and seminars.

Until his death, he was a member of the KGI's board of directors in the role of clerical advisory board.

His world bestseller "Tomorrow we will believe again" has been translated into 17 languages ​​and is regarded as the standard work of modern Catholic religious information.
