Ferdinand Krieger (engineer)

Ferdinand Krieger (born September 29, 1858 in Goldap ; † November 28, 1919 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German civil engineer .

In 1888, Krieger was employed as a government master builder by the Königsberg building administration. He was responsible for the construction of the Samland reservoirs and the power station in Löbenichtschen Mühlengrund, of which he became director. He built the first electric tram in East Prussia's provincial capital, when horse-drawn trams were still running everywhere else in the German Empire . The network is still used in Kaliningrad today.

In 1894, Krieger also took over the water works , for which he created filters , sewage treatment plants and new pumps . In Kosse he built the new gas station (1900) and the new power station (1907).

From 1899 to 1903 he sat for the German Liberal Party in the Prussian House of Representatives .
