Ferdinand Pamberger

Ferdinand Pamberger (born November 13, 1873 in Köflach , † February 1, 1956 in Graz ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

Pamberger studied at the Höhere Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Vienna under Viktor Jasper and Joseph Eugen Hörwarter (1854–1925) and at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Franz v. Mud . From 1902 he was a professor at the State Trade School in Graz . In 1923 he founded the Werkbund in Graz.

In the war year 1915 Pamberger was raised from the Landsturm service and assigned to the Austro-Hungarian war press headquarters. He headed the art group and acted as a liaison officer under General Svetozar Boroëvić von Bojna . He made the fighting on the Isonzo front 1915-1917 and the offensive up to the Piave with. Pamberger exhibited his works in all exhibitions in the war press quarter. Many of his works are now in the Army History Museum in Vienna .
