Joseph Eugen Hörwarter
Joseph Eugen Hörwarter (born August 11, 1854 in Vienna ; † June 9, 1925 there ) was an Austrian painter and art teacher.
Hörwarter began studying painting at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Ferdinand Laufberger , where he was assistant to Michael Rieser and Albert Ilg from 1870 to 1875, and from 1875 to 1876 for Rieser.
He then became a teacher at the Vienna State Drawing School, at the same time he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with August Eisenmenger . From 1888 he became a teacher at the Graphic Education and Research Institute in Vienna . Ferdinand Pamberger , Fritz Rojka and Oskar Larsen were among his students .
He regularly took part in the exhibitions of the Vienna Künstlerhaus . Joseph Eugen Hörwarter created genre pictures, history pictures, portraits and illustrations of classic editions.
