Fritz Rojka

Fritz Rojka (born December 24, 1878 in Vienna , † March 14, 1939 ibid) was an Austrian landscape , portrait and genre painter .

After visiting the graphic teaching and research institute in Vienna with Joseph Eugen Hörwarter , Rojka studied from 1896 to 1898 and from 1904 to 1908 at the Vienna Art Academy with Christian Griepenkerl and Franz Rumpler and was awarded the Special School Prize and the Rome Prize (1908).

Rojka made a trip to Italy in 1909 , visiting Rome , Florence and Venice .

From 1908 he exhibited at the exhibitions of the Vienna Künstlerhaus and became a member in 1920. In 1914 he was called up for military service.

Rojka received the Künstlerhaus Anniversary Prize in 1926, the Künstlerhaus Gold Medal of Honor in 1927, the Rembrandt Prize in 1929 , the Gustav Figdor Prize in 1934 , the State Prize in 1936 , and the Dumba Prize in 1937 .
