Ferdinand Venetz

Ferdinand Maria Nikolaus Venetz (* 1764 ; † 1822 ) was a Swiss military leader.

As an officer in the French service, he was in 1792 by Louis XVIII. and Charles X appointed count . In 1798 and in the Battle of Pfynwald in 1799 , he was in command of the Upper Valais uprising against Napoléon Bonaparte and later was secretary or community clerk in Gampel .
