Ferdinand Willeit

Ferdinand Willeit (born September 14, 1938 in Franzensfeste ; † August 2, 2018 in Verona ) was an Italian manager and politician from South Tyrol .

Willeit studied law at the Universities of Innsbruck and Padua and then worked in the public administration of South Tyrol. In 1971 he became managing director of the South Tyrolean Association of Municipalities , and from 1981 to 1997 he was President of the Middle-South Sanitary Unit . In the Italian parliamentary elections in 1987, Willeit was able to win a mandate for the Chamber of Deputies of the South Tyrolean People's Party , which he held until 1992. From 1992 to 2007 he was President of Autostrada del Brennero SpA / Brennerautobahn AG , which operates the A22 , the Italian section of the Brenner motorway . From 1997 and 2002 to 2009, respectively, he was also President of Società Trasporto Rotaia Brennero SpA and Rail Traction Company , two companies that are controlled by Brennerautobahn AG and operate in the railway sector. From 2005 to 2010 Willeit was Deputy Vice President of the Bank for Trento and Bolzano , most recently he was President of the telecommunications provider Brennercom .

In 2011 Willeit received the Tyrolean Decoration of Honor .
