Ferenc Keserű (cyclist)

Ferenc Keserű (born December 12, 1946 in Pécs ; † February 12, 2019 in Alsoors-Villatelep ( Veszprem )) was a Hungarian cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Keserű was a participant in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City and finished there in 41st place in the road race . In 1965 he won the Tour of Hungary . He was a very versatile rider and was able to achieve success in a wide variety of cycling disciplines. In 1969 (47th) and 1970 (62nd) he was at the start of the International Peace Tour .

Keserű became Hungarian champion:

In 1970 he won the GDR International Olympic Prize with Hungary (Ferenc Keserü, György Rajnaj , Tomasz Magyar , Istvan Hirth ) against strong competition from international teams of four.

He competed several times at the UCI Road World Championships . His best results were 14th place in the team time trial in 1970 and 18th place in the individual race in 1968 .

From 1960 to 1965 Keserű drove for the Spartacus SC Pécs club, and from 1966 to 1970 he competed for Vasas Budapest. From 1967 to 1970 he was a member of the national team.
