Vasas Budapest is a working class district of Angyalföld in the north of Pest in the 13th century . District of the Hungarian capital Budapest . It was founded on March 16, 1911 by the Hungarian Association of Iron Workers as Vas- és Fémmunkások Sport Clubja ( German Sports Club of Iron and Steel Workers ). The club's colors are red and blue.
The club operates, among others, the following sports: soccer , water polo , ice hockey , handball , volleyball , basketball , tennis , rowing , athletics , boxing , wrestling , fencing , skiing , ice skating , chess and hiking .
Outstanding are the sections of the footballers, who drew a lot of attention in Hungary after the Second World War , as well as the water polo players, who were among the best in the world for many years.

The soccer team currently belongs to the second division, the Nemzeti Bajnokság II.
The team plays their home games in the Illovszky Rudolf Stadium , which after the new building has a capacity of around 5,000 spectators.

Water polo
Hungary has traditionally been a leading nation in water polo and is a record winner at world championships and Olympic Games. Vasas SC made a special contribution to this.

Due to financial problems of the Budapest Stars , Vasas SC took control of the club in the 2010/11 season and joined the hockey club Vasas Budapest with a focus on training young players.
