Fernando Enrique Arce Ruiz (born April 24, 1980 in Tijuana ) is a Mexican football player .

Career

society

Fernando Arce began his career in 2000 with the Mexican first division club CD Irapuato . There he gained his first experience in professional football, but could not yet definitely recommend himself for a regular place. Two years later he signed with CD Veracruz . In the first half of the championship he made 18 games for the Tiburones Rojos and scored one goal. In the following years he was regularly used at the club and could not win any titles with the club. At Apertura 2003 he switched to CF Atlante . There he quickly made the leap into the starting eleven and scored six goals in 20 games in the following Clausura. After a year, the midfielder left the club again and joined Monarcas Morelia .

In the following three and a half years he finally rose to a dangerous goal midfielder and scored seven goals in 18 games during the Clausura 2007 . A year later he moved again within the top Mexican division, the Primera División , and signed with Santos Laguna . Arce immediately won his first title with his new employer in the Clausura 2008 and contributed six goals in 21 games to this success.

After Club Tijuana rose from his hometown to the first division, he moved to the Xolos at the beginning of the 2011/12 season , with whom he won his second championship title in the Apertura 2012 .

National team

The midfielder was in 1997 the first time the jersey of the Mexican selection as he with the U-17 team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup took part. In the group stage with opponents Spain, New Zealand and Mali, he won with Mexico and lost two games. While he was still playing through the opening game against Cuba , he only made short appearances in the quarter and semi-finals. In the final against the United States , which ended with a 2-1 win in favor of the Americans, he was not used. Shortly afterwards, he also took part with the national team in the 2007 Copa America tournament, which took place in Venezuela . The first group game against Brazil was surprisingly won 2-0, with seven points from the group stage Mexico qualified for the next round. In these games, too, the midfielder ran onto the field and advanced with the team to the semi-finals, in which they were defeated by the Argentines 3-0. The game for third place was won 3-1 against Uruguay , but Arce stayed on the bench for 90 minutes in that game.

The following year he was particularly noticeable in the qualifiers for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 , when he scored the opening goal for Mexico in a 3-0 win over Jamaica on September 6, 2008 and scored two goals in the 7-0 win over Belize . In the 2009 calendar year he received five appointments to the national team and played three games. He made his only full-length appearance on March 28, 2009 in a 2-0 win against Costa Rica , against Bolivia and El Salvador , he completed one half each.
