Fernando Arodi Vega Félix (born February 19, 1998 ) is a Mexican athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Fernando Arodi Vega gained his first international experience in 2014 at the U18 Central America and Caribbean Championships in Morelia , where he finished fifth in 55.72 seconds. The following year he took part in the Youth World Championships in Cali , but retired there with 54.27 s in the first round. In 2017 he won the silver medal in the Pan American U20 Championships in Trujillo in 49.96 s and in 2018 he was fifth in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla in 49.85 s. In the following year he took part in the Summer Universiade in Naples for the first time , where he finished fifth with a new Mexican record of 49.32 seconds and won the Mexican 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 02.89 minutes . He also qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Doha , where he reached the semifinals , in which he was eliminated with 49.96 s.

In 2019 Vega became the Mexican champion in the 400-meter hurdles. He is a student at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey .
