Fernando Casanova

Fernando Casanova (actually Fernando Gutiérrez López ; born November 24, 1925 in Guadalajara (Mexico) , Jalisco ; † November 16, 2012 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican actor .

Life

Casanova made his screen debut in 1946 when he played a small, unspecified role in La vida íntima de Marco Antonio y Cleopatra . His breakthrough came several years later, in 1953, when he took on the title role of the daring adventurer for producer Raul De Anda in El águila nera , after he had played for Luis Buñuel the year before, and performed alongside María Félix . Until the 1970s, he played in numerous successful Mexican films such as Los bandidos de Río Frío , Escuela de vagabundos (both 1954), Cuatro contra el imperio (1955), Rebeca Iturbide y Charito Granados and El hombre de Alázan (both 1958) and Mecánica nacional (1973).
