Fernando Mario Chávez Ruvalcaba (born November 30, 1932 in Zacatecas ) is former bishop of Zacatecas .
Life
The Secretary for Extraordinary Duties of the Church, Antonio Samorè , ordained him on December 23, 1961 as priest of the Diocese of Zacatecas.
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Zacatecas on January 20, 1999. The Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico , Justo Mullor García , donated him episcopal ordination on March 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Javier Lozano Barragán , President of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care , and Rafael Muñoz Núñez , Bishop Emeritus of Aguascalientes .
On October 8, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
