Rafael Muñoz Núñez (born January 14, 1925 in Vista Hermosa, Michoacán , Mexico , † February 19, 2010 in Aguascalientes , Mexico) was Bishop of Aguascalientes .

Life

Rafael Muñoz Núñez was ordained a priest in Guadalajara on March 24, 1951 after his training in the Pontifical Seminary in Montezuma, New Mexico, USA . He initially worked for the Mexican Catholic Action ("Acción Católica Mexicana"), later for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 30, 1972 Bishop of Zacatecas . The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor José Pablo Rovalo AZCUE SM on 29 September of the same year; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero , Bishop of San Juan de los Lagos , and Adolfo Hernández Hurtado , Bishop of Zamora . On June 1, 1984 he was appointed Bishop of Aguascalientes by Pope John Paul II .

On May 18, 1998, Pope John Paul II accepted his health-related resignation. He suffered from diabetes .
