Fernando Morales Esquer (born September 14, 1985 in Mexico City ), also known by the nickname El Zurdo ( The Left Footed ), is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in the left midfield .

career

Morales began his professional career at his hometown club Club Universidad Nacional and made it into the first team for the first time in the 2004/05 season . In his first half-season, Apertura 2004, he won the Mexican soccer championship with the Pumas , but on the way to this success he only played in the last game of the league round, which was lost 5-1 to Deportivo Guadalajara . His personal best season was the Clausura 2006 , in which, with the exception of the second match day, he participated in all matches of the league round.

After Morales had spent the entire year 2007 on loan at Club Necaxa , he returned to the Pumas in early 2008, where he was repeatedly used in the second division farm team Pumas Morelos and could not establish himself permanently in the first team. For example, while he completed nine appearances for the first team in the Clausura 2009 and was part of the Pumas championship squad for the second time, he was on permanent loan to the Pumas Morelos the next time the Pumas won the Clausura title in 2011 and thus did not get into the enjoyment of a third championship title.

The 2011/12 season spent "Zurdo" Morales on loan with the San Luis FC and in the Clausura 2013 he was on loan at Monarcas Morelia in use. In the summer of 2013 he moved to the Swedish second division club Ljungskile SK , before ending his active career in 2014 in the service of the Pumas.
