Fernando Sanz Durán (born January 4, 1974 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish football player and chairman of the Spanish football club Málaga FC .

Football career

Sanz's debut took place on March 2, 1996. He finished the season with 13 appearances, the next with six when the club became Spanish champions.

He also played when the club was again season champions in 1997/98. In the 1999/2000 season, Sanz moved to Malaga FC. On September 8, 2001, he scored his first goal.

In 2006 Sanz resigned after the relegation of his club at the time. He was in 240 games and scored four goals. Eventually he became chairman of the club after his father Lorenzo Sanz acquired 97% of the club.

Private

Sanz is the brother-in-law of former Real Madrid soccer player Míchel Salgado , who married his sister. His father Lorenzo Sanz served as President of Real Madrid from 1995 to 2000.
