The railway line Piła-Ulikowo (German: Schneidemühl-Wulkow [Pom.] ) Is a branch line of the Polish State Railways (PKP) in the Voivodeships of Greater Poland and West Pomerania .

course

The railway line Piła - Ustka begins in the northeast of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in the north station of the city of Piła (German Schneidemühl ) and ends in the south-west of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in the village of Ulikowo ( Wulkow ) near the city of Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ). It thus establishes a connection between the cities of Piła, Wałcz ( Deutsch Krone ), Kalisz Pomorski ( Kallies ) and Recz ( Reetz ) and offers a connection via Ulikowo to the cities of Stargard and on to the voivodeship capital Szczecin .

State of development

The line is single-track and not electrified.

For passenger trains hauled by locomotives, the maximum speed is eighty kilometers per hour, for railcars up to Wałcz also eighty, then one hundred, for freight trains first sixty, then seventy.

history

The railway line from Stargard to Schneidemühl, planned at the end of the 19th century, was built in three construction phases: on November 1, 1881 the section from Schneidemühl to Deutsch Krone (now in Polish: Piła to Wałcz) was opened, and on September 1, 1888, the section from Deutsch Krone to Kallies (Kalisz Pomorski) and on September 1 and October 15, 1895 the sections Stolzenhagen – Wulkow (Ognica – Ulikowo) and Kallies – Ognica.

In 1945, after the end of World War II, the line became Polish with the annexation of this part of the German eastern territories to Poland. On June 23, 2000, passenger traffic was stopped on the entire route. The route between Wałcz and Kalisz Pomorski was later partially impassable. Since September 1, 2006 the section Kalisz Pomorski – Ulikowo has been operated again, since February 1, 2007 the Piła – Wałcz, on the latter the passenger traffic was stopped on February 21, 2012, on the first on March 1, 2012 since On September 1, 2012, passenger trains will again run continuously on the Piła – Ulikowo route. There are five pairs of trains running.
