The fire brigade in East Timor ( Portuguese Bombeiros de Timor-Leste , tetum Bombeiru Timor-Leste ) was founded on April 23, 2000. Their headquarters in Caicoli ( Dili ) are located in the National Directorate for Civil Defense , to which the fire brigade reports. The fire brigade is also responsible in the event of a disaster .

So far there are only seven of the 13 municipalities in East Timor ( as of 2012 ), including the municipal capitals of Aileu , Baucau , Maliana and Pante Macassar . In 2012, 23 firefighters were supposed to set up the first fire department in the municipality of Cova Lima .

There have been repeated forest fires in recent years, the worst in October 2019 . The fire brigade should therefore be equipped for such cases.
