description
The station "Mycenae" of the Peloponnese Railway from Corinth to Tripoli is located in Fichti . However, the narrow-gauge railway was stopped in 2011. About 200 m north of the train station, directly west of the rails, are the foundations of an ancient tower of about 9.50 m by 9.50 m. Another tower of about 7 m by 7 m is located about 500 m west of the village. The foundations of an ancient building are located about 350 m west of the village and another, the so-called block house near Nemea, is about 2 km north.
To the northwest of the village there are three chapels Agia Paraskevi, Panagia tou Zacharia and Profitis Ilias. The Panagia tou Zacharia church is probably named after a founder of the Zacharia family. It served Theodoros Kolokotronis as headquarters in the summer of 1822 . From here he organized the Battle of Dervenakia in which he defeated Mahmud Dramali Pasha .
