Fidel André

Fidel André (* 1770 ; † June 22, 1827 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German politician and Lord Mayor of Freiburg from 1824 to 1827 .

Life

On April 28, 1824, the Freiburg guilds elected Fidel André as the successor to Johann Josef Adrians as Lord Mayor. André was co-owner of the André und Kuenzer hardware store, which operated two ironworks on the Charterhouse and on the Staig.

During André's term of office, the Städtische Sparkasse, which emerged from the Notarization Society , was founded, the Freiburg Art Association and the Society for the Advancement of History, which later became the Freiburg History Association Schau-ins-Land.

In 1825 , Fidel André was also a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly .

André died unexpectedly on June 22, 1827
