The left winger played for TuS Nettelstedt , SV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen in the Bundesliga . Occasionally he was also used in the position of the middle back player. He played two international matches for the German national team in 1979 .

Career

Guest started playing handball in his hometown at TV Sachsenroß Hille . In 1976 he moved to Bundesliga promoted TuS Nettelstedt and in 1979 to regional league club SV Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was able to celebrate promotion to the Bundesliga in the first year. When the team was relegated in 1982, he joined TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen , with whom he was also relegated to the second division in 1986. In his last two years in Minden he was team captain. In 1988 he moved to VfL Mennighüffen in the association league and from then on played primarily in the backcourt. After six years he took over the position of player-coach there . After he had already ended his career in 1997, he was reactivated in February 1998 for the rest of the season.

Fido Gast was appointed by national coach Vlado Stenzel in January 1979 in the German national team for the Baltic Sea Cup. He was used in the game against hosts Denmark and in the final against the GDR , but could not score a goal.
