List of apple varieties

Fießers debut is a variety of culture apple ( Malus domestica ). There are few varieties that are so early and richly productive and are also so well suited for rough locations . Even in years with little fruit, you can see the trees of the 'Fießers Erstling' variety from a distance with their full hangings . However, the incisive acidity makes the apple unsuitable for direct consumption.

history

The breeder GH Fießer, grand ducal court gardener to Friedrich II in Baden-Baden, noticed that the mother tree was already showing the first flower buds as a four-year-old seedling on the seedbed . The variety was brought onto the market around 1880 and is known for its high fertility and winter hardiness . The variety 'Fießers Erstling' is currently on the Red List of endangered native crops in Germany . This red list includes all species groups of indigenous useful plants and their varieties, local varieties and varieties that were adapted to local conditions in Germany and were of importance.
