The Filderklinik in Filderstadt - Bonlanden is one of three anthroposophically oriented hospitals in Germany . The operator is the non-profit company Filderklinik gGmbH .

The main founders of the Filder Clinic, which has existed since 1975, were Hermann and Ernst Mahle, the founders of the Mahle group. The Mahle Foundation GmbH is the main shareholder and at the same time the largest sponsor of the Filderklinik gGmbH .

The hospital employs around 760 people and has 300 beds. In 2017, 12,185 inpatients and 32,753 outpatients were cared for. The independent nursing school affiliated with the Filder Clinic has 60 training places.

The first major construction phase was designed by the architect Christoph Klein and the artist Wilfried Ogilvie. According to its own information, the Filder Clinic was the hospital in Germany with the lowest Caesarean section rate in 2014 . The clinic also took an active part in the campaign to strengthen natural birth in the state of Baden-Württemberg .
