Potschling branch church
The Roman Catholic branch church Potschling in the municipality of Irschen is consecrated to Christ Salvator and belongs to the parish of Irschen . The church was built in 1783 and consecrated in 1800.
description
The church is a late Baroque building facing west with a five-eighth choir . The east facade is structured by four pilaster strips and a beam of beams. A wooden roof turret with a pointed helmet rises above it .
The interior is the nave structured with pilasters . It has arched windows and a stuccoed flat ceiling. The basket-shaped triumphal arch connects the nave with the choir.
The late baroque altar conceals a man of sorrows in the central niche . The three-dimensional rendering of the Holy Trinity in the niche is flanked by the figures of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Anthony of Padua . The statues of St. John Nepomuk and probably St. Bonaventure or another Franciscan saint stand on the side on consoles . The church also features a copy of the Mariazell Madonna from the 19th century, a group of guardian angels created by Jakob Kreisnegger around 1850 and a statue of Maria Immaculata as well as pictures of Saints Isidore and Joseph .
