The Roman Catholic branch church in Treffling in the municipality of Mölbling , consecrated to St. Michael , belongs to the Meiselding parish . The church was first mentioned between 1060 and 1076 and was probably an own church of the Eppensteiner . Another choir consecration took place in 1440.

Building description

The church is a small, Romanesque building in the walls of the nave with a retracted, Gothic extended choir and a Gothic sacristy on the north side of the choir. The eight-sided roof turret is crowned by an onion helmet. Lorenz Pez cast a bell in 1646. The roofs are covered with stone slabs. On the south wall there is a St. Christopher fresco with Renaissance borders, painted around 1520/1530, and a crucifix from the 17th century. A porch on brick pillars protects the late Gothic west portal.

The late Gothic flat ceiling in the nave has patronized strips. A round arched triumphal arch connects the nave with the choir. About the einjochigen choir with five-eighth final one rises groin vault . A Gothic sacrament niche with a wrought iron grille has been preserved in the choir . A pointed arched portal with a door with late Gothic door fittings leads into the groin-vaulted sacristy. The choir has pointed arch windows, the nave a Romanesque window. On the south side of the nave is a zweibahniges tracery windows in the soffit tendrils painting as well as representations of Cain and Abel , of St. Florian and the veil of Veronica from the first half of the 15th century can be seen.

Facility

The high altar from 1670 consists of an aedicula above a base, a curved gable and a small aedicula with a console pilaster as an attachment. The altar bears the figure of St. George and figures of angels on the side. The left side altar, created around 1725, contains the figure of St. Oswald . The right side altar, built around 1725, bears a statue of the Virgin Mary and shows St. Florian in the upper image. The church also features a stoup from 1435 and a baroque crucifix from the first half of the 18th century.

Karner

The Karner north-east of the church was first mentioned in 1373 as the St. Jörgen Chapel. It is an early Gothic, hexagonal building from the 14th century with a bulbous, windowless oriel apse , a monastery vault and a tent roof. The ossuary is located in the basement .
