Filip Riska (born March 13, 1985 in Jakobstad ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho in the Liiga since August 2018 .

Career

Filip Riska began his career as a hockey player with Vaasan Sport , for which he was active in the Mestis , the second Finnish division, in the 2003/04 season . Then the attacker switched to JYP Jyväskylä from the SM-liiga , for which he played the following two seasons. Since he could not prevail there at first, he returned to his ex-club Vaasan Sport in the summer of 2006, with which he was third in the Mestis in 2007. After Riska was able to convince in the second division, he was re-signed by JYP Jyväskylä in summer 2008, with whom he was Finnish champion for the first time in his career in the 2008/09 season . In the championship season, the attacker scored seven points, including five goals, for JYP.

Riska was then under contract with JYP until 2016, before he received another contract with Vaasan Sport in summer 2016. That club had in the meantime risen to the top division, the Liiga. Riska acted there as assistant captain. In January 2018 he was handed over to IF Björklöven from the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan .

In August 2018 Riska graduated from Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho's training camp , later received a contract with HPK and won the Finnish championship with the club in May 2019.

International

For Finland Riska took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2005 .
