Filippo Carlà-Uhink

Filippo Carlà-Uhink (* 1980 in Florence ) is an Italian ancient historian .

Life

From 1998 to 2003 Carlà-Uhink studied Classical Studies at the University of Turin . After completing his doctorate (2003–2007) in Ancient History at the University of Udine with Arnaldo Marcone , he taught in 2008 in Roman history (20 hours) in the Master's Esperto di cultura regional (Piemonte) per la formazione degli insegnanti at the University of Torino and the University Vitória . From 2006 to 2007 he taught Ancient History at the University of Torino, the School of Specialization for Teacher Training. From 2009 to 2010 he was a research assistant at the Department of Ancient History and Epigraphy at Heidelberg University . From 2010 to 2014 he was junior professor for cultural history of antiquity at the University of Mainz . In 2013 he taught as a visiting professor of ancient history at Novosibirsk University . From 2013 to 2014 he was a professor for ancient history in Heidelberg . From 2014 to 2017 Carlà-Uhink was Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Exeter . After completing his habilitation in 2016 in Ancient History at the TU Dresden , he was Academic Councilor in the History Department at the PH Heidelberg from 2017 to 2018 . In 2018 he was a professor for Ancient History at the University of Tübingen . Since October 2018, he has been teaching in succession to Pedro Barceló as Professor of Ancient History at the University of Potsdam .

Carlà-Uhink's research and interests focus on monetary history and numismatics, the cultural history of antiquity and the economic and social history of late antiquity , as well as the reception of antiquity , especially in modern pop culture.
