Horst Dieter

Horst Dieter (born December 14, 1930 in Wollin , Brandenburg ; † December 18, 2001 ) was a German ancient historian .

Horst Dieter received his doctorate in 1960 at the “Karl Liebknecht” (PHP) college of education with a thesis on Cicero's work “De officiis” - an ideological trend publication and then became a lecturer there. In 1980 he was appointed full professor of ancient history at the PHP. In 1991 it was "wound up". After 1992 he was appointed head of the Center for Justice Research at the University of Potsdam . Dieter was best known for his Roman history up to 476 , the university textbook for the Roman history of the GDR, which he had published together with Rigobert Günther . In addition, he created various teaching materials, including various lesson letters for distance learning for teachers , for teacher training. Together with Liselot Huchthausen , he translated Cicero's work About the art of divination .
