Rubrics
As a magazine, Filmpuls currently comprises six categories, which are served with content through editorial work:
- Expertise (on film and video production)
- Insider (insights into the video and film production industry)
- Practical test (product tests)
- Interviews with filmmakers from home and abroad.
- Case studies (analysis of the creation and production of commissioned videos)
- Film reviews (feature films and documentaries)
In autumn 2018, the magazine's coverage was expanded to include film festivals for the first time and a report was published on the Leipzig Documentary Film Festival . At the beginning of 2019, new film reviews were also recorded. The online magazine has also been publishing selected press releases since October 2019. These are also disseminated in the newsletter and with a news ticker.
Interviews
The filmmakers who give the magazine exclusive insights into their work include:
- two-time Oscar winner Andrew R. Jones ( Avatar , Godzilla Titanic , The Lion King )
- TV presenter and all-rounder Wigald Boning ,
- the directors Markus Welter, Udo Flohr, Patrick Merz and Jürg Ebe,
- the film editors Sven Pape and Michael Schaerer
- the cinematographer Adrian Teijido ( Narcos from Netflix ),
- Festival founder Kacper Sawicki,
- Storytelling expert Petra Sammer ,

Founding history
The film magazine Filmpuls was conceived in 2015 as a content marketing platform for Condor Films . The content was published online both as a high-quality print magazine (circulation: 5,000 copies) and free of charge for a broad readership. In 2017 the magazine was transferred to its own company and separated from the founding company for further growth. This in order to be able to report neutrally and broadly on topics in the entire German-speaking area.
The online magazine publishes its content without commercial intent. It follows the maxim that successful films need three essential components: talent, experience and knowledge. Filmpuls describes it as its mission to make the knowledge and experience of experienced filmmakers accessible to young talents and the communication and marketing industry.
development
From 2106 to 2018, Filmpuls Magazin published selected articles on a website called Videothink with its own branding. Because the majority of search engines believed they recognized the English term as a video library, the site was abandoned on October 31, 2018. In February 2020, English publications were resumed with a relaunch, this time identical to the successful German-language website, under the web presence filmpulse.info
