The Fitzroy Developmental Road is a highway in Queensland , Australia and is listed as state road 67th It has a length of 502 km and runs in a south-north direction from Taroom on the Leichhardt Highway to the Peak Downs Highway east of Coppabella .

Taroom - Bauhinia

The dirt road branches 17 km north of Taroom from the Leichhardt Highway (A5) to the north-northwest and runs east past Palmgrove National Park . After 111 km it meets the Dawson Highway (S60) between Moura and Bauhinia . With the Dawson Highway it runs the next 19 km to Bauhinia to the west-northwest.

Bauhinia - dingo

From Bauhinia the paved Fitzroy Developmental Road leads north-northeast. From the Barranga station to the junction to Woorabinda (approx. 30 km) it is again an unpaved runway. Between Duaringa and Tryphinia it reaches - again as an asphalt road - the Capricorn Highway (A4) after 107 km (from Bauhinia). Together with the Capricorn Highway it then leads 35 km to the west-northwest to the small town of Dingo .

Dingo - Peak Downs Highway

In Dingo , the Fitzroy Developmental Road branches off the Capricorn Highway to the northwest and runs - past Taunton National Park - parallel to the east coast of Australia until it meets the Peak Downs Highway (S70) 21 km east of Coppabella after 230 km. In this way, it crosses the Mackenzie River and the Isaac River .
