The Flat Lake is north of the Great Lakes of Mecklenburg Lake District lying lake in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District , Mecklenburg-Vorpommern .

location

It is located half a kilometer south of the municipality of Klocksin . It has an approximate length of 2,450 meters and an approximate width of 620 meters. It is oriented in a north-south direction. Only in the south does it bend to the west. In the northern part there is an island. The lake is embedded in the terminal moraine landscape of Mecklenburg Switzerland . It belongs to the Loppiner-Klocksiner chain of lakes , which extends between the larger lakes Malchiner See and Fleesensee / Kölpinsee in an ice age meltwater channel. In the south, the lake is only separated from the Tiefen See by a narrow land bridge over which a railway line runs. The lake is on the edge of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Kummerower See nature reserve . The edge of the bank is forested throughout.
