The Flambeau River is a 42 km long tributary of the Bering Sea in western Alaska .
The Flambeau River arises at the confluence of its two source streams La Spray Creek and Myrtle Creek 30 km north-northeast of the city of Nome in the southwest of the Seward Peninsula . The Flambeau River flows mainly in a south-southeast direction through the hill country. Finally he reaches the coastal plain, where the Eldorado River joins from the left. The 8 km long estuary of the Flambeau River begins below the confluence . This finally flows into the western end of the Safety Sound , which is separated from Nortonsund by a spit .
