The songs "Des Heilands Haut" and "Zeit zupiel" come from the third album Leichenlager , which was not yet released at the time , whereby "Des Heilands Haut" corresponds to the version of the album, except for the intro sentence, during "Zeit zupiel" represents an alternate version. “Scarlet Dress”, on the other hand, comes from the second album Krebskolonie , but is played here much faster than the original version.

"Herzblut 2000" is a reinterpretation of the song "Herzblut", which was published on the first album Zerfall and, according to Michael Roth's statement, was "for many the highlight [of this album]".

"Fleischhaus" appeared for the first time in 1997 on the Fleischhaus-7 " single , which had contributed significantly to the fact that the band was signed to Last Episode and thus had a special meaning for the band. Michael Roth called the song at the time" [probably] one of the [...] most important songs for us. ”Thematically, it is about a world in which anomie broke out after a major war and you can get into the meat shop every night for money, where you can sexually engage with dead bodies Criticism of religion also resonates with the sentence “Where is your God now, when you need him .” The topic of necrophilia was already found with “Pale blue lips” on the cancer colony and later with “My dead Russian friend” on the eclipse of colors .

History of origin

The idea for this did not come from the band itself, but from the label Last Episode at the time , which shortly before the recording of Leichenlager was of the opinion that a single release should be released as a foretaste, which was initially taken by the band with divided opinions , but was finally realized.

The visual design, which was kept in the shade of red, is based very much on the album Krebskolonie , the cover shows impaled skulls. The style, on the other hand, with its strongly melodic elements, corresponds more to that of Leichenlager , which is particularly evident in the new recordings of earlier titles (especially “Scarlet Dress”).
