Michael Roth (born April 3, 1971 ; pseudonym: Blutkehle ) is a German rock musician and singer of the metal bands Eisregen and Eisblut , as well as some other side projects.

Life

Roth grew up in Tambach-Dietharz in Thuringia . His parents were devout Christians and so he was raised as a Christian, but later left the church. After failing high school, he learned the profession of printer . He is married, has two children and still lives in Tambach-Dietharz. In his private life, Roth is friends with the musicians Martin Shirenc and Alex Wank from Pungent Stench , who have influenced him musically. He says he rejects all forms of drugs .

Career

When he was 13, Roth's interest in heavy metal was sparked by the releases of Iron Maiden . His main musical influences include Slayer , Carcass and Darkthrone . After the political change , Roth played with several unknown Grindcore bands before founding the dark metal band Eisregen in 1995 at the age of 24 . Four of the publications were checked by the BPjM , three of which were indexed.

In 2004, Roth founded the death metal project Eisblut together with Bursche Lenz . With this project he released the album Schlachtwerk in 2005. The second album of the project is said to be called Deep Red , but has not yet been released.

In 2002 Roth took over the vocal part in the title track of the Ewigheim album Mord , a dark metal title, for a reason .

In an interview with Vampster Roth said that Eisregen's style of music is not only influenced by Black Metal , as the other members prefer different styles of music . When asked whether it is a problem that the Thuringian media are more interested in the NSBM band Absurd , Roth replied that problems arise more often because of such bands. A concert was canceled because the mayor didn't feel like playing black metal bands. Roth said about Absurd that he couldn't do anything with it (related to the band and their lyrics).

Michael Roth's lyrics are inspired by splatter films that he collects himself. Roth describes the typical creation of a text with the following example:

"The text about the black gigolo z. B. Made on my last vacation. We were in a playground on the Rhine and suddenly I had almost the entire text. I only had a plastic bag and a ballpoint pen with me and the text, as it is now on the album, was written within 10 minutes. Sometimes you have flashes of inspiration and you just have to take advantage of it immediately to hold onto it. "

In another interview, Roth says that he usually does not associate a message with the texts, but that they are fictional horror stories intended to entertain the audience. Roth also pointed out that the texts he wrote for his band Eisregen are often controversial, but the black, humoristic, ironic side of the words is overlooked. However, this misleading is entirely intentional and pursues the purpose of provocation.
