Eisblut is a German death metal band that was founded in 2004 as a side project by Michael “Blutkehle” Roth and Michael “Bursche” Lenz von Eisregen .

Band history

Eisblut was founded in 2004. The band consists of Michael "Blutkehle" Roth (vocals) and Michael "Bursche" Lenz (guitar) from Eisregen and Wolfgang Rothbauer (guitar) from the Austrian band Thirdmoon , Roberto Göring (bass) and Sebastian Köhler (drums).

The debut album Schlachtwerk was released on September 9, 2005 on the Massacre Records label . In the booklet of the album, a follow-up album with the title Scar World was announced.

style

music

The music is strongly reminiscent of Eisregen's publications, although Eisblut completely dispenses with the use of the violin and keyboard and Roth relies more on clear and less guttural singing than in Eisregen.

Texts

The lyrics , which, as with Eisregen, are written by Michael Roth, are brutal and obscene and take up themes from well-known horror and splatter films . The difference to freezing rain is that the depicted brutality is presented more bluntly and obscenely. For example, the titles Über dem Jenseits and Am Glockenseil (also known from the Eisregen album Wundwasser ) on the debut album Schlachtwerk , which was released in 2005, are dedicated to the Italian director Lucio Fulci , who was best known for his zombie films from the late 1970s and 1980s.

Artwork

The artwork for the debut album Schlachtwerk was done by Berg Morbach, a former member of Eisregen, who also designed the artwork for the Eisregen Wundwasser album.
