Schlangensonne is the eighth album by the Thuringian dark metal band Eisregen and was released in April 2010 on the Massacre Records label . The band announced a promo tour starting in September 2010.
Cover
The cover shows a picture of Jesus on the cross with female breasts .
Style and content
In contrast to earlier works, the album shows a clear return to higher guitar use, which was already evident on the previous album Knochenkult . The keyboard continues to be used for melodic support and there are some clear vocal parts. Thematically, the album deals with the Second World War in two songs . Forever Eastern Front describes the end of the life of a German soldier in the war against Russia (similar to Iron Cross Warriors from the album Blutbahnen ), whereas Death descends describes the bombing of Dresden by Great Britain. The text of the first song, N8verzehr , shows strong parallels to Hansel and Gretel , although the text is more based on the version by Wilhelm Busch , since it describes a couple who eat children. At the same time, there is a socially critical song on the album, Kai from the box . The intro to Zauberelefant contains a quote from the film Feed .
