Flinch is a 5-man rock band from Tampere , Finland .
Band history
Flinch was founded in 2003 by Ville Liimatainen (vocals), Mikko "Mice" Häkkilä (guitar), Olli Laukkanen (guitar), Tuukka Hänninen (bass) and Juuso Valkeala (drums). With this line-up, the band's styling and sound were reminiscent of the 1980s.
The first single Tuulet went straight to number 3 on the Finnish singles chart . The second single Liikaa was also a hit; it made it to number 2 on the Finnish charts. Her debut album Kuvastin sold over 5000 times.
In May 2007 singer Ville left the band due to alcohol problems. But already in August he began to work with a newly formed band under the old band name. Guitarist Haiwe joined Flinch from Filthy Sixx , the rest of the band members had previously not been noticed musically.
During the phase of separation from the old line-up of Flinch, Ville Liimatainen worked on a project of Negative , which together with Jann Wilde (including Jann Wilde & Rose Avenue , Jann Wilde & the Neon Comets ), Christian Fjäder ( Dead By Gun ), Jussi Selo ( Uniklubi ) and Ville Liimatainen re-recorded the Queen song Too Much Love Will Kill You . Ville Liimatainen was involved as a backing singer alongside Jussi Selo.
On January 16, 2008, Taivas Tähtiverhoineen ( Eng . Starry Sky ) was the first single of the newly formed band. This was produced by Ville Liimatainen's older brother Jonne Aaron. Taivas Tähtiverhoineen was a pre- release from the new album Irrallaan , which was released in Finland on April 9, 2008 at the same time as the second single in 1986 .
On April 28, 2008 Flinch played their first concert outside of Finland, the band performed together with Negative and The Winyls in Berlin. Further appearances outside of Finland are not planned for the time being.
In July 2010, the band announced the separation from guitarist Jaakko, as the reason was given that he wanted to concentrate exclusively on his second band. After he was replaced by Tuomas Lepistö from The Scanditones during the summer performances , Amurin Kosti from the band White Flame (active here as Anthon ) was announced as the new guitarist in September .
On October 18, 2010, the single Roosa was released (exclusively on the Internet) and a new album was announced for spring 2011.
