Florencio Aguilera Correa (born May 9, 1947 in Ayamonte ) is a Spanish painter , art collector and music organizer.

Life

Florencio Aguilera grew up in an artistic environment. The father Rafael Aguilera (1903-1998) was also a painter. He made his debut in 1962 with a group exhibition in Ayamonte and on Isla Cristina . In 1983 Florencio Aguilera founded the International Music Festival Ciudad de Ayamonte . In 1999 he handed over its organization to the community. Due to the economic crisis, the music festival was stopped in 2011 and continued from 2016. As a prelude to the reopening, the Noches del Patio Festival took place in August 2015 , which Aguilera organized in cooperation with the municipal administration.

His main work is stylistically assigned to Expressionism . His works are characterized by the dominance of colors, whereby he uses many different rich hues to create atmosphere. He works with quick brushstrokes that express movement and are intended to express the light of the sky or the sea. Aguilera's work mainly shows landscapes and focuses on Ayamonte and the coasts of the province of Huelva.

His work is in public and private collections in Spain, Portugal , USA , Germany , France , the Netherlands , England , Italy , Switzerland , Norway , Argentina .

From October 2011, the traveling exhibition Tres Generaciones showed 175 works from three generations of the Alguilera family: alongside his own works by his son Chencho Aguilera and his father will be shown. Chencho accompanied his father on his travels to the exhibition venues. The exhibition, the occasion of which was Aguilera's 50-year artistic career, opened on July 30, 2011 in his studio / museum. In February and March 2012 the works were shown in the Convento de Santa Inés in Seville. The traveling exhibition then moved to New York , where it made stops at the Queensborough Community College (QCC) Art Gallery from October 2012 to January 2013 . The final exhibition took place in Madrid in spring 2013.
