Florent Chaigneau (born March 21, 1984 in La Roche-sur-Yon ) is a French football goalkeeper .

Career

Chaigneau began his career at the Stade Rennes , where he first played for the second team at the age of 17. He also took part in the 2001 and 2002 World Championships for the French U-17 team. In addition, he won the Coupe Gambardella with the A-youth in 2003 and the national championship of the reserve teams a year later. On February 21, 2004 he made his first division debut when he was substituted on at 1: 2 against RC Lens for Petr Čech . After six games in this, however, he no longer ran for the professional team in the following season. Therefore, he was loaned to the English second division club Brighton & Hove Albion in 2005 , but only played there once and also had to accept relegation. He returned to Rennes, from where a little later he was loaned to the French third division club Sporting Toulon . Although he was used there more often, but Chaigneau could not finally prevail in Toulon. In Rennes, his contract was not renewed in 2007, after which he was without a club for two years. He signed with the fifth division Le Poiré-sur-Vie VF . With this he rose to the fourth division and was the first goalkeeper. In 2011 he returned to the first division after his second promotion in a row to the third division through his signature with FC Lorient , even if he was intended as the third goalkeeper and from then on had to be content with individual missions.
