Florian Mühlstein (born November 12, 1990 in Villach ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the EC VSV in the Austrian ice hockey league .

Career

Florian Mühlstein comes from the youth department of the EC VSV . At the age of 16 he moved to the EC KAC in the highest Austrian U20 league. In the 2008/09 season he played his first games in the Austrian ice hockey league for the Carinthians , with which he was able to win the Austrian title in the men's and U20s this season . He then moved to EC Red Bull Salzburg , for which he played until 2015. With the red bulls, he was also able to win the Austrian junior championship and the men's championship title in 2010. In 2011 he and the Salzburg team won the national championship title as well as the European Trophy with a 3-2 final win over Jokerit Helsinki .

At the end of the 2014/15 season, he won another championship title with the EC Red Bull. He then returned to the EC VSV , as he was last used only sporadically at EC Red Bull. He has been without a club since the end of the 2016/17 season.

International

Mühlstein played for Austria in the junior division at the U18 World Cup in 2008 in Division I and in the U20 World Championships in 2009 in Division I and in 2010 in the Top Division.

He made his debut in the men's national team on December 16, 2010 in the 2-5 defeat against Norway in Jesenice, Slovenia . His first appearance at a world championship was in Division I of the 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship . There he reached promotion to the top division with the Austrian team, in which he then played at the 2015 World Cup .
