Florian Pedarnig

Florian Pedarnig (born February 16, 1938 in Schlaiten , East Tyrol ) is an Austrian composer .

Life

Florian Pedarnig's musical career began at the age of twelve on the clarinet . At the age of 17 he became Kapellmeister in his home parish in Schlaiten . Pedarnig studied French horn , double bass and theory at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck and played for 4 years with the Tyrolean Military Music under the direction of Siegfried Somma . In 1963 he completed his studies and then joined the Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra . From 1964 Pedarnig was a member of the Wilten Town Music Band and its deputy conductor. Florian Pedarnig pursued additional music studies in Munich until 1965. In 1974 he founded the Tiroler Kirchtagmusig with other musicians in Innsbruck . In 1980 he succeeded Sepp Tanzer as regional music director of the Tyrolean brass band. Florian Pedarnig has also worked as a conductor of the Bundesbahnkapelle Innsbruck as well as a freelance worker for the ORF regional studio in Tyrol and as a folk music expert.
