Florian Steinbiß

Florian Steinbiss (born Florian Walter Steinbiß on April 19, 1957 in Bonn ) is a German author and film director .

Life

After completing his psychology studies at the University of Bonn in 1982, he worked as a freelance writer for various newspapers, magazines and radio and television companies. In collaboration with Frederic C. Tubach, the two radio plays The Center Outside and Trümmerspiele were created for West German Radio .

He developed Metropolis Las Vegas with David Schein, exhibited as a sound work at documenta 8 in Kassel in 1987 and later at the Whitney Museum of American Art .

The collaboration with David Eisermann led to the founding of the author's office Steinbiss und Eisermann in Bonn in 1985 (until 1990). They wrote and produced satires for various cultural broadcasters, including “Propaganda Swing - Dr. Goebbels' Jazz Orchester ”for Südwestfunk , the most internationally successful German documentary of its time.

Steinbiss is the director of the film Neander-Jin with the American actor Jon Chardiet and the German actress Sarah Mühlhause in the leading roles.
