David Eisermann
David Eisermann is a German cultural journalist and radio presenter, moderator of literary readings and translator from French and English, especially American English.
Life
After graduating from Beethoven-Gymnasium Bonn , the son of sociologist Gottfried Eisermann studied literature in Bonn , Nice and Pittsburgh . In 1984 he received his doctorate in Bonn . After that he worked as a temporary academic advisor at the University of Bayreuth in the special research area “Identity in Africa” until 1985 . From 1985 to 1990 he was partner of Florian Steinbiß in the author's office "Steinbiß und Eisermann" in Bonn and Berkeley . This collaboration resulted in numerous works for radio and television, including "Propaganda Swing: Dr. Goebbels' Jazz Orchestra ”for Südwestfunk television.
The WDR -Hörfunk is Eisermann connected as a freelancer since his studies, since 1985 he has fixed a freelancer. Among other things, he moderated the weekend program “Entertainment à la carte” on WDR2, the satire program “ Addition ” and the program “Kultur heute” on Deutschlandfunk and (since 1998) the current cultural program “Mosaik” on WDR 3 . Occasionally he also moderated the evening program “Resonanzen” there. After more than 20 years of activity, Eisermann left the team of moderators in August 2018, but is still a freelancer for WDR.
In 2001/2002 and 2007/2008 Eisermann was a lecturer at the University of Bonn. He will take up this position again in the 2019 summer semester.
In spring 2010, the Bonn city council appointed him to the board of trustees of the Beethoven Foundation for Art and Culture . In autumn 2010 he was one of the founders of the sponsoring association, which opened the Literaturhaus Bonn in early 2011 . Since then he has been on the board of the association. In 2015 he was elected to the council of the Bonn University Foundation.
Eisermann is Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Konejung Foundation: Culture In addition, Eisermann regularly moderates author readings at the Heine Haus in Düsseldorf , for example a bilingual reading in March 2014 with the French-Canadian author Ryad Assani-Razaki from his novel Iman about the life of street children in West Africa Africa translated by Sonja Finck .
