Florian de Gelmini (born January 21, 1976 in Berlin ) is a German-Italian film composer .

Life

Florian de Gelmini belongs to the South Tyrolean noble Gelmini von Kreutzhof family . He studied music with the pianist Wolfgang Saschowa, who died in 2010, and took various master classes. He was a scholarship holder of the Pradé Foundation for musically gifted people in Berlin, as well as the winner of Jugend musiziert and the Steinway piano competition.

After his musical training, he then composed for television programs such as ZDF WISO , Sat.1 News and STARS & stories .

In 2003 he founded the Berlin band Funkatized with drummer Norm Bolling, with whom he has been producing music since the early 1990s, with whom he released four albums, and an EP in 2013 .

His first international success came in 2010 with the music for the documentary film The Girl In The Glass Casket about Rosalia Lombardo, produced by the American National Geographic Channel .

From 2011 to 2016, Gelmini made the films for the annual award ceremony of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation together with the Berlin production company “Authors (werk)” and director Oliver Päßler .

In 2013 he wrote the soundtrack for the UFA production Nacht über Berlin , which was broadcast on ARD on the 80th anniversary of the Reichstag fire. The resignation under the direction of Thomas Schadt over the last 68 days of office of the former Federal President Christian Wulff was broadcast on SAT.1 in 2014, here Florian de Gelmini also wrote the film music. Gelmini has been writing the film music for the web series Die Prenzlschwäbin since 2015 . In 2016 he composed the symphonic score for the now discontinued RTL series Not to get dead . In 2017 he composed the score for the RTL comedy series Best Sisters .
