Not to be killed is a German comedy television series with Jochen Busse . The eight episodes of the first season were broadcast in double episodes on four Thursdays in March 2017 on RTL . Was directed by Felix Stienz and Daniel rocket Siegel , Head author was Stefanie Ren .

The main character of the black-humored sitcom is the grumpy old villa owner Helmut Kraft ( Jochen Busse ), who suddenly feels very alone in his 800 square meter villa after the death of his wife, his few friends and finally his younger brother. To remedy this and to fill the property with life again, he sells his property to two young couples at an extremely low price - but with the condition that he may live in the attic for life. The moving-in siblings Dagmar ( Caroline Frier ) and Nina ( Amelie Plaas-Link ) and their husbands Oliver ( Tristan Seith ) and Rasmus ( Mathias Harrebye-Brandt ) soon notice what they have taken on with the supposedly cheap purchase.

Due to the average viewer rate of 12.1 percent, which is below the channel average, RTL decided not to commission a second season in May 2017.

The series received mostly positive reviews, with praise for the cast, the dialogues and the humor. Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv thinks "Busse pulls out all the stops as a tyrant, the ensemble is made up of, among others, Caroline Frier and Tristan Seith, the dialogues are nasty and the implementation fast. Fortunately, the series is not a sitcom and therefore not designed as gag fireworks for the devil. "
Above all, the use of music was criticized. Axel Weidemann from faz.net writes: "Meanwhile, the strength of the series, all the little skirmishes and exchanges of words, is constricted by all sorts of unnecessary chichi: unmotivated individual recordings as filler and a musical background that is subtly contrasted with that of every children's cartoon.
